Kolariks Luftburg

Not without a reason Kolariks Luftburg in the Wiener Prater is well known throughout the city. The café- restaurant seduces culinary with its beer garden and hearty Austrian cuisine ranging from the finest salads through to a crispy pickled stilt. Tasty grilled specialties such as spareribs from the lava stone grill and cold beer to tap by your own can be enjoyed in the beer garden

Modern ambience in the light- flooded glass palace, a cozy winter garden and a newly designed garden in the year 2014 care for good atmosphere throughout the year. A natural with greenery shaded terrace, decorative water element and an integrated children's play area form an impressive atmosphere for the younger and elderly. Our fresh Budweiser beer to tap by your own on selected tables provides best entertainment in the garden.

The historical roots of the Luftburg range up to in the 19th Century. In 1895 the brothers Ferdinand and Wilhelm Leicht purchased the former restaurant " Zum schwarzen Tor" and changed it into a summer theatre. Soon after it was established as a popular attraction in the Prater through personalities such as Raoul Aslan, Hans Moser, Girardi or Paula Wessely which have inspired Vienna’s audience among todays magnificent chestnut trees.? After the strikingly beautiful building was destroyed with its yellow- green wood elements during the war, it came into the possession of the Kolarik family. Initially a petting zoo with attractions was originated on the property with animals  such as the smallest cow in Austria , an unusual red pig , a domesticated brown bear and a lady tiger and a lion. In 1992 Elisabeth Kolarik established the café-restaurant " Luftburg" to offer the Viennese a meeting place again for cozy get-togethers and culinary delights.
