SCL - A festival like no other. For many, Vienna and classical music may be a harmonious unison, but in connection with youth and festivals, the combination is certainly unique. And that's how unique the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival is this year on July 3rd in Vienna's Prater.

A total of 28 ensembles travel to the festival – with eight ensembles, the largest number of groups this year comes from Australia. Some of the ensembles are visiting the festival for the second time. OJPA Alicante's Youth Orchestra is coming this year for the fifth time, so successful is the musical exchange. But there are also premieres, so this year the SCL Festival welcomes the first ensemble from Ireland.

Every year at the beginning of July, the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival (SCL Festival) offers up to 2000 young musicians from all over the world the opportunity to present themselves to the public in Vienna.

Numerous choirs, orchestras and bands from all over the world make the SCL Festival one of the most important festivals of its kind in Europe. For five days, the ensembles will perform in Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland and neighboring countries. The musical youth of the world presents itself to the public at a variety of different venues, including Vienna's most important music and cultural institutions: Musikverein, MuTh and Haus der Musik. As part of the festival, the young participants complete concentrated music workshops at the University of Music and Performing Arts, which are designed by renowned music teachers.
